YINA bian stone gua sha

Try this Yin-spired Evening Routine to Sleep Better Tonight

By Kate Downes, LAc TCM Practitioner

Need to find your calm? Chill out? Wind down? Try this relaxing evening ritual, inspired by the calm, restorative nature of yin to help you find your inner peace.

1. Put on a soothing playlist 🎧

Every blissful evening includes a soothing soundtrack to set the mood.  Thankfully, we created the Pink Moon Bath playlist just for times like these! Find it on Spotify to play as you enjoy the rest of your evening ritual.

If you prefer something more instrumental, try music made with delta waves or binaural beats to instantly wind down. These tones are proven to calm the mind and set you up for a more restful sleep.

2. Make a cup of tea 🍵

You’ve got your tunes, now let’s make some tea. Choose a calming tisane that supports your mind and body - like our Pink Moon Celestial Sun Brew.

If stress or insomnia has really taken its toll on you lately, take your tea ritual one step further with a cup of Five Seasons TCM Lullaby Calming Tonic. Just like their name suggests, these tonic tea bags use Chinese herbs to calm the mind and bring on deep sleep naturally.

3. Run a bath 🛁

This isn’t just any bath - it’s therapy! Sprinkle in Malaya Organics Lavender CBD Bath Soak for a truly unwinding experience. This bath soak is made with Epsom salt, dead sea salt to release tension and balance the skin’s natural pH levels. For even deeper relaxation, this soak is infused with stress-relieving lavender essential oil and CBD oil.

4. Moisturize from head to toe 🧴

For this step, you’ll need your favorite moisturizing serum or oil as well as a gua sha tool. Our picks? The Midnight Melody 4-in-1 body and hair oil, YINA bian stone body gua sha, and Mo Mi Gua Sha Comb.

Midnight Melody leaves skin and hair silky soft and glowing while locking in moisture. After getting out of the bath and drying off, apply a few drops of the oil to your whole body. Rub it in until mostly absorbed, then use the YINA bian stone body gua sha tool to make long, gentle strokes along your neck, arms, and legs. This promotes healthy circulation and works out any residual tension while your muscles are still warm and relaxed from your bath.

Then, apply a small amount of Midnight Melody oil to the ends of your hair. With your Mo Mi gua sha comb, stroke each section of your scalp from front to back, then back to front. This stimulates healthy hair growth and total relaxation! Not to mention, you’ll smell like a dream with the scents of Night-Blooming Tuberose, Petitgrain, and Ylang Ylang.

5. Lull yourself to sleep with Yoga Nidra 🧘🏻‍♀️

Yoga Nidra is a deep meditation practice that is more like yoga for your brain, rather than your body. It helps you sleep deeper and feel more rested when you wake.

To finish your yin-spired evening ritual, slip into bed and lie in corpse pose (savasana). Then, turn on a guided Yoga Nidra meditation to help you achieve deeper, more restorative sleep all night long. Sweet dreams!
