Aromatherapy, also known as essential oil therapy, has long been celebrated for its mood-enhancing properties. The practice of using essential oils for happiness is one way to harness the power of plants to help raise your spirits and bring fullness of joy.
It takes anywhere from hundreds to thousands of pounds of a plant to make an essential oil, making them extremely potent. There are several methods of extraction, and the part of the botanical that we get the oil from is different for each. For example, we get citrus essential oils from their rinds, while we extract lavender buds to make its much-loved oil.
Ever find yourself feeling different after you smelled a certain scent, but you didn’t understand why? The brain actually processes scent in the same part that it does memories and emotions. This means that aromas are then able to trigger responses such as feelings that can affect your mood, as a result. That’s why some essential oils might help you feel less stressed, while others make you feel more alert. And it’s not all in your head! Using essential oils for happiness has been extensively studied. Research has even shown that lavender, when used by olfaction, can help ease symptoms of anxiety and depression.
That’s why we created Drops of Sunshine, our new uplifting blend of essential oils for happiness. Inspired to formulate a product for our current uncertain times, we chose immune-boosting and antibacterial botanicals to encourage healthy spirits all around. Bright and cheerful, like a dose of aromatic sunshine, this mighty bottle brings together energizing top notes of citrus with floral lavender, rosemary and earthy cedarwood.

Make a revitalizing morning soak.
Add 5-15 drops with a tablespoon of your favorite carrier oil to your tub. Sunflower seed, argan, sweet almond, and olive oils complement Drops of Sunshine!
Welcome a little sunshine in your home.
Just add 10-15 drops in your diffuser or humidifier. Breathe in the joy all day long!
Give your space a super refreshing clean.
Blend ¼ cup white vinegar and 1¾ cup distilled water with 30 drops to make an all-purpose cleaner.
Feeling sleepy while you WFH?
Mix 1-2 drops with a lightweight plant-based oil in your hands. After rubbing your palms together, lift them up to your face and slowly inhale through your nose for a citrusy wakeup!
For happy, healthy hair and scalp.
Add a few drops to your shampoo. Rosemary and sweet orange are both known to promote hair growth and soothe a dry, itchy scalp.
Remember, essential oils are highly concentrated and more powerful than dried herbs, so just a couple of drops goes a long way. When applying to the skin, always blend with a carrier oil to prevent irritation. Happy uplifting!
